ELR
Discipline · Big cases, heavy bullets and pressure awareness at extreme range.
Extreme long range shooting uses large cartridges such as .375 and .416 class rounds and beyond to push heavy, high-BC bullets well past a mile. Many ELR shooters use solid or monolithic bullets designed for stability and retained velocity.
Larger cases mean larger powder charges, slower powders and more attention to pressure. Consistency still matters, because tiny velocity differences become large vertical errors at extreme range.
Expect heavier-duty presses and dies, and plan your load development carefully given the cost per round.
