Airgun

Discipline · No reloading, but pellet selection and sorting play the same role.

← Reloading A-Z: all steps

Precision airguns do not use cartridges, so there is no reloading in the traditional sense. Instead, the ammunition work happens through pellet and slug selection, testing and sorting.

Different pellet weights and head sizes shoot very differently in each barrel, so test several and choose the most accurate. Competitive shooters often sort pellets by weight and head size, inspect for damage, and clean or lightly lubricate them.

The same principles apply as with firearms: consistency, testing one variable at a time and keeping good records.
