Burstfire Just Created a Whole New Category in Reloading
When Burstfire launched its original 2-in-1 Torch Annealer and Case Prep Center, it gave reloaders something they hadn’t seen before: a compact, all-metal flame annealer paired with a four-station case prep center—all for under $300. For a lot of reloaders, myself included, it was the first approachable, affordable step into flame annealing. The system wasn’t just innovative for its price. It was practical, efficient, and it worked for reloaders who didn’t need boutique gear to get serious results.
Now, Burstfire has taken that same concept and pushed it into a whole new lane. The latest release, the first-ever 2-in-1 Induction Annealing Machine and Case Prep Center, isn’t just an update. It’s a hard pivot into a space that’s been dominated by high-dollar, single-purpose systems. This new machine pairs true induction annealing with a multi-motor case prep station and stays within reach for the everyday shooter. And yes, it’s priced to shake things up in a category that’s mostly ignored shooters on a budget.
A Word on Bias

Full transparency, Burstfire is a sponsor of the Black Plague Precision Podcast, and I worked with them during beta testing. So yeah, I get why you’d raise an eyebrow. But here’s the deal: I’ve owned one of the highest-end induction annealers out there. I didn’t need another one. I had no reason to switch and honestly, I had every reason not to. But I gave this a real run, same as I would if I were spending my own cash. I looked for weak points, asked hard questions, and stacked it up against gear I already know inside and out. I’ve also spent hours talking to Dez, the guy behind Burstfire . We’ve gone deep on metallurgy, testing protocols, heat flow, and sourcing parts. Some of that info is proprietary and won’t make it into print, but I can offer you a well-informed look based on actual hands-on experience. This isn’t fluff, it’s field-tested perspective.
The New System: Induction Power and Practical Engineering

Burstfire's latest innovation, the 2-in-1 Induction Annealer and Case Prep Center, isn’t just a refresh. It’s a serious shift in what’s possible. For the first time, reloaders can get a water-cooled induction annealer and a full six-head case prep station in one machine, all at a price that actually makes sense. On the annealing side, it’s fast—sub-3-second cycles on .223. In testing, the system ran 600 pieces in under 30 minutes without slowing down, overheating, or needing a break. Thermal stability comes from water-cooled coils and three dedicated cooling fans: one for the board, one for the reservoir, and one extracting ambient heat. The chassis is also perforated for better airflow and passive cooling. Compared to most systems on the market, especially ones in the DIY or prosumer space, this thing runs cooler, longer, and more efficiently.
Case handling is dead simple. Brass feeds through a gravity-fed chute into a four-position multi-caliber turret, just rotate it to your case size, drop it in, and go. An auto-ejector kicks finished brass cleanly, while a manual twist height adjuster lets you dial in seating depth without messing with spacers or tools. The case prep center is equally dialed. Six independently powered high-torque motors, each using standard 8-32 threads, means you can run any tool you already trust; deburrers, chamfer tools, flash hole uniformers, you name it. Unlike gear-driven setups that route everything through a single motor, there’s no shared load, no single point of failure, and no plastic parts cutting corners. Just smooth, consistent operation.
Power setup is plug-and-play. It ships for 120V here in the US, but flip a switch and it’ll run on 240V. It’s a true turnkey system. Stack brass, flip the switch, and let it run. No profiles. No fluff. Just a smart, overbuilt solution that works.
How It Differs From the Flame Version

If you’re familiar with Burstfire’s Gen 2 flame-based 2-in-1 unit, this new system will feel both familiar and entirely new. The Gen 2 gave reloaders their first taste of an all-metal flame annealer with integrated case prep; no plastic parts, no fussy calibration, and no complicated setup. It had four motors on the case prep side, a 360 degree swivel torch mount, and a speed controller with a clean digital readout. And it worked. The induction model takes those fundamentals and levels them up.
The biggest shift, obviously, is the heat source. Gone is the torch. Instead, the new system uses a precision induction coil that surrounds the brass neck directly, delivering consistent heat without relying on flame angles or markings. No torch means no gas, no soot, and no adjustment headaches. And thanks to the water cooling system, the machine keeps running long after other units would need a break. The new model also upgrades to six prep stations (up from four), adds a multi-caliber rotating disk for tool-free case changes, and an adjustable auto-ejector setup. In short, the flame version was the gateway. The induction version is the long-term solution.
Compared to Other Annealers on the Market

Compared to other annealing systems out there, the Burstfire 2-in-1 Induction Annealer and Case Prep Center stands apart in a few key ways:
It uses six independently powered high-torque motors, each rated for 30,000 hours or more. Most systems rely on a single motor connected through gear trains
No shared drive systems. Each function runs on its own circuit, which means no single point of failure
No plastic load-bearing components. The machine is built with aluminum, steel, and other tested materials throughout
It is the only system currently available that combines a true induction annealer with a six-station case prep unit in one chassis
The multi-caliber turret and ejector system are mechanically controlled. No digital calibration or saved profiles required
Assembly and quality control take place in a certified production facility in Taiwan using a mix of U.S.-made and premium imported parts. Design and engineering are handled in the U.S., which allows for consistent results at scale.
Now here’s what really makes this system hard to ignore, the price. It sells for $624.87. That price is unheard of for what you’re getting. And if you jumped in on the first production run, you paid just $499. That deal was real, and it sold fast. It might happen again. Areas for Improvement

No system is perfect, and it’s important to call out the areas that still need improvement. The first issue I ran into was with the water tank. It functions great under normal use, but it isn’t fully sealed. If you move your setup frequently like me, whether it’s between benches, range trips, or filming locations, you might see a bit of leaking. Dez is aware of it and already working on a better design. He’s made an effort to use U.S.-sourced parts where possible, but in this case, finding the right fit has been a challenge. The fact that he’s already on it says a lot.
The second thing to know is that this system or rather Burstfire does not include a trimming solution. The case prep side handles deburring, chamfering, and pocket work just fine, especially when paired with Burstfire’s Ultimate Case Prep Tool Kit. But trimming will need to be handled separately. If you already have a trimmer, that’s not a problem. If you’re expecting a full prep and trim setup in one unit, you’ll need to plan around that. For some, those might be deal breakers but if you’re buying with expectations of a fully integrated system, it’s good to go in with the full picture.
The Only Annealing Machine Trade-In Program in the Industry

This part gets overlooked, but it’s a huge deal. Burstfire is the only company in the space offering a trade-in program for annealers. Any brand. Even their own.
Trade in a qualifying machine and get the flame annealer for $159.94 shipped Or grab the induction annealer for $399.92 shipped
That’s nearly quarter of the price of most induction systems, and it’s not a temporary promo. It started as a trial, but Burstfire locked it in permanently. It’s one of the most customer-friendly moves I’ve seen from any reloading brand.
Who it's for

This system isn’t trying to replace the highest-end annealers out there. It’s not built for shooters chasing custom profiles, software features, or touchscreens. Dez built it for the everyday long-range shooter. Someone who wants consistent annealing, clean brass, and simple operation without a steep learning curve. Dez believes every serious shooter needs an annealer and case prep station. Not as a luxury, but as a core part of reloading. That’s what drove this design. Make it practical. Make it affordable. Make it good. If you want all the digital bells and whistles, this isn’t the system for you. But if you want to anneal accurately and prep brass with proven tools, it fits the bill. The annealing side performs as well as anything out there. The difference is in how simple it is to use.
The case prep center does its job. Six powered heads handle chamfering, deburring, and pocket work. Burstfire offers the Ultimate Case Prep Tool Kit with everything you need except a trimmer. You’ll need to add that separately. If you want an all-in-one system that includes trimming, this won’t check that box. So is this the right tool for you? That depends on your priorities. If you want reliable performance, simple controls, and a system that covers the essentials without breaking the bank, this one’s worth a serious look.
My Experience

I spent almost four months testing this system. Ran hundreds of cases through it across multiple calibers and setups. I didn’t baby it. I used it the way most reloaders would. Long sessions, mixed brass, different prep operations, and repeated use to see what held up and what didn’t. Annealing stayed consistent throughout. No overheating. No stalling. No need to recalibrate once things were dialed in. The water-cooled coil and fan system did what it was supposed to do, even after hours of use. The case prep center handled everything I threw at it. Strong motors. Smooth operation. No signs of fatigue. I used Burstfire’s Ultimate Case Prep Tool Kit for most of it, which covers everything except trimming. I used a separate trimmer without issue. That’s the only area where you’ll need to bring in another piece of gear if trimming is part of your workflow. Oh and I did not see any noticable impact shifts which is what we all really want to know haha. Everything shot great.
Here’s the honest truth. I sold my old annealer. This replaced it. I’m still keeping my high-end prep center for match loads and more precise reloading, but that doesn’t mean this system won’t see real use. It’s not my primary prep station for competition, but it’s perfect for range reloads, networking days, fun shoots, and training ammo. There’s absolutely a place for it on my bench. And honestly, if I were shooting PRS instead of F-Class, I’d probably be using this full setup even more. It’s that practical. That said, it’s still a new system. I plan to do a 12-month and 24-month follow-up to see how it holds up over time with repeated use. So far, it’s done everything I asked. Now we get to see how it performs long term.

Final Thoughts
The Burstfire 2-in-1 Induction Annealer and Case Prep Center is a workhorse. It’s not trying to be a lab instrument. It’s not trying to out-tech the most expensive gear in the industry. It’s built for people who want to reload but not pay an arm and a leg. People who want gear that runs clean, holds up, and doesn’t ask for a PhD to use. It doesn’t need to be the fanciest. It just needs to be the most practical. And from what I’ve seen, Burstfire nailed it.
