Exciting News: Joining the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA)

I am beyond thrilled to announce that I have been voted in and officially accepted as a Voting Member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA)! This is a huge milestone in my journey as a media professional, and I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities ahead.

What is POMA?

For those who may not be familiar, the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) is the leading organization for outdoor communicators, including writers, photographers, videographers, content creators, and broadcasters. POMA is dedicated to supporting professionals in the outdoor industry by fostering connections, providing educational opportunities, and advocating for ethical and impactful media representation in hunting, shooting sports, fishing, and other outdoor pursuits.

Being part of POMA means access to an incredible network of industry professionals, companies, and like-minded creators who share a passion for telling the stories of the outdoor world. It also provides a platform to grow and enhance my ability to contribute meaningful content that supports and uplifts the precision shooting and outdoor communities.

Merging Passion with Professionalism

Joining POMA allows me to bridge my academic background in communication with my deep-rooted passion for precision long-range shooting. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from California State University, Sacramento and a Master’s Degree in Communication from the University of the Pacific, I’ve spent years refining the skills that drive effective storytelling—whether through video production, writing, or photography. Now, as a member of POMA, I have an incredible opportunity to apply this expertise in a way that amplifies the visibility of precision shooting disciplines, showcases groundbreaking products, and highlights the talented creators and companies shaping the industry.

Why This Matters

Long-range precision shooting has been a defining part of my life. It’s not just about the competition or the gear—it’s about the challenge, the camaraderie, and the pursuit of perfection. It’s also about having a hell of a lot of fun! There’s something special about dialing in that perfect shot, testing new technologies, and pushing the limits of precision and performance.

Through my work with Black Plague Precision and my website blackplagueprecision.com, I aim to continue producing high-quality content that educates, inspires, and engages the shooting community. With POMA’s support and resources, I look forward to making an even bigger impact.
